Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how DanceSync ("we", "the app") handles your data.

1. Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or transmit personal data to DanceSync servers. DanceSync has no backend database, advertising SDK, analytics service, or user-account system managed by us.

Practice settings, track controls, BPM analysis results, tempo settings, and authentication credentials are stored locally on your device. Music and account requests are sent only to the service you choose when needed to provide that feature.

2. Device Permissions

To function, the app requires access to certain hardware features:

Camera: Used solely to record your dance practice videos. Videos are processed locally and saved directly to your device's photo library. We do not view or upload your videos.
Photo Library: Used to save completed videos to your device.
Media Library and Apple Music: Used, with your permission, to display and play music you can access. DanceSync does not upload your library or listening history to our servers.

DanceSync records silent video and does not include the selected music or microphone audio in the saved recording.

3. Third-Party Services

Apple Music and Media Library

If you choose to use your music library, Apple processes authorization, catalog, artwork, and playback requests under the Apple Privacy Policy. DanceSync receives only the information required to show and play the music you select.

Optional TIDAL Integration

Some versions or configurations of DanceSync may offer optional TIDAL integration. If you enable it and log in:

Authentication is handled directly through TIDAL's secure OAuth flow.
DanceSync does not receive your TIDAL password.
We store a secure access token on your device to maintain your session.
Search, catalog, artwork, and playback requests are sent to TIDAL to provide the requested service.
Use of TIDAL is subject to the TIDAL Privacy Policy.

Apple StoreKit

Purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. DanceSync does not receive or store your payment-card information. Apple may provide purchase status so the app can unlock purchased features.

4. On-Device Processing and Sharing

Demo music: Original demo tracks are bundled with the app and require no account.
BPM and tempo: Supported local audio is analyzed and adjusted on your device.
Apple Watch: Track and recording state may be exchanged locally between your paired iPhone and Apple Watch.

5. Data Retention and Control

Because we do not operate a server that collects your data, we have no server-side personal data to retain or delete. Local settings and credentials can be removed by logging out where available or deleting the app. Videos saved to Photos remain under your control until you delete them from your photo library.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
